Requirements for wood stacking before drying kilns are used

drying kilns

 The spacers are placed correctly, the size of the pile is suitable, the stacking in the drying kiln is uniform, and the air flow is in good condition.

  1. The wood material and moisture content in the same drying kiln are the same or similar;

  2. The thickness deviation of the sawn timber in a kiln should not be too large; when the thickness deviation is obvious, the same thickness of the same layer of wood should be used to ensure that each board can be pressed by the spacer;

  3. Both ends of the wood should be waxed to prevent the wood from cracking;

  4. The spacer is placed correctly:
    (1) The spacing between the spacers should be appropriate to reduce sheet deformation and ensure smooth airflow;
    (2) The spacers should be perpendicular to the length direction of the pile, and the spacers of each layer should be kept on a vertical line in the height direction, and fall on the support beams of the pile or pallet, to ensure the normal ventilation in the pile. The airflow channel is unobstructed;
    (3) The distance between the side of the spacer bar and the end of the stack should be within one spacer width (within 30mm), the length of the spacer should be consistent with the width of the stack, and the width of the spacer should be uniform;

  5. When stacking in the wood drying chamber:
    The distance between the front and rear of the piles is kept at about 10cm to ensure that even if the plates are not aligned, there will be no blockage and affect the air circulation; There is enough space (airway); in the height direction, the distance from the top of the pile or the weight to the ceiling should be controlled at about 10-20cm;

  6. The length direction of the stack is perpendicular to the airflow direction, and it is not allowed to stack the stack length along the airflow direction;

  7. The shape of the pile is a regular hexahedron, and the two sides of the pile should be neat and vertical. When the length of the sawn timber is different, the long one should be piled on the lower and two sides of the pile, and the short one should be piled in the middle and upper part of the pile. To ensure the stability of the pile;

  8. The windward side must be filled with piles of wood, and there should be no gaps; if the size of the piles cannot match the size of the kiln body or the dry wood is too small, the piles can be cross-stacked (reasonable matching) to prevent short-circuiting of the air flow and affect the drying quality.

  9. The stacking or stacking of the wood piles should be neat and stable to prevent accidents caused by the collapse of the wood piles during the drying process;

  10. Place a heavy object (cement block) on the position of the spacer above the pile to prevent the upper layers of the pile from warping.

  11. When opening and closing the kiln door, pay attention to safety, move slowly, and regulate the opening and closing of the kiln door.
