Establishment of Wood Drying Benchmarks
Drying benchmarks for new tree species need to be established. Before establishing new drying benchmarks, it is necessary to understand the structure of wood and its physical and mechanical properties, especially the relationship between wood density and drying shrinkage coefficient, and use the drying benchmarks of tree species with similar properties as a reference. . Or saw small samples and dry them in a drying box to observe their drying conditions. You can also put all kinds of wood to be dried together for drying experiments to observe the drying conditions of various test materials, and then according to various The reaction of sawn timber to drying is carried out by tree species. The steps are as follows:
(1) According to the nature of the wood to be dried, refer to the drying benchmark of wood with similar properties, and consider the drying condition of the small test to formulate a hypothetical benchmark. Other methods can also be used to establish a preliminary dry baseline.
(2) Carry out tests according to hypothetical benchmarks or preliminary benchmarks, draw the results of stratified moisture content at each moisture content stage into a moisture content gradient curve, and indicate the nature and quantity of drying defects occurring at each stage.
(3) Re-revise the hypothetical benchmark and preliminary benchmark based on the above test results.
(4) Compare the results of several tests, and use the curve with the smallest drying defect and the largest moisture gradient as the tentative standard curve.
(5) Use the change data of medium temperature and humidity during the drying process of the tentative standard curve as a tentative benchmark for productive testing.
(6) If the productive test is successful, it is determined that the tentative benchmark is reasonable, and the inspection and revision will be continued in production, and finally determined as the dryer benchmark for the tree species.
