Types of heaters for wood drying rooms
The heaters commonly used in the drying room are: cast iron ribbed tube heaters, smooth tube heaters, spiral plate heaters and rolling plate heaters.
(1) Cast iron ribbed tube heater. Cast iron ribbed tube heaters are available in round fin tubes (round fins) and square fin tubes (square fins). Its advantages are firmness and corrosion resistance; the heat dissipation area is large. Compared with the smooth pipe, when the pipe diameter and length are the same, the heat release area is 6-7 times larger than the smooth pipe, and the total heat release is 3 times larger. The disadvantage is that the pipe is heavy, consumes a lot of metal, and is easy to accumulate dust; in addition. Due to the limitation of the length of the pipe, it needs to be connected in sections, resulting in more flange joints, inconvenient installation and maintenance. If the connection is not good, it is easy to leak air and water, so it is seldom used in wood drying at present.
(2) Smooth tube heaters. The smooth tube heater has simple structure, reliable connection, convenient manufacture and maintenance, high pressure resistance, high heat transfer coefficient, and is not easy to accumulate dust. The disadvantage is that the radiator has a small area, is easy to rust, and has a short service life. Currently less used in wood drying.
(3) Spiral heater. The spiral heater is generally composed of two to three rows of spiral finned tubes along the flow direction of the medium. A steel strip (or copper strip) is wound around the seamless steel pipe to form a spiral sheet, and then galvanized (or tin) is used to connect the pipe and the sheet into one, that is, a spiral sheet tube. Then the whole heater is assembled from the spiral sheet tube. This type of radiator has already been finalized in heater factories all over the country. According to the metal material used, there are SRZ type with copper fins wound on steel pipes and then galvanized; SRL type with aluminum fins wound around steel pipes; SXL type with aluminum fins wound around steel pipes; , B-type and U-type etc.
(4) Rolled sheet heater. The rolled sheet heater is made of a rolled heat pipe. The surface of the metal heat pipe undergoes multiple processes such as rough rolling and finish rolling, and the fins are rolled out to obtain excellent heat transfer performance. It is an ideal radiator . There are usually two types of single-metal rolled finned tube radiators and bimetallic composite finned tube radiators. The overall rolled fins are smooth and free of burrs, no wrinkles, easy to clean, and not easy to accumulate dust and scale in drying and other heat exchange occasions. The modified radiator has the characteristics of tight combination, small thermal resistance, good heat transfer performance, high strength, small flow loss, strong anti-corrosion performance, not easy to deform under long-term cold and hot conditions, and long working life.
